Design considerations for plastic injection molds

1. Consideration of clamping force

The lateral locking force of plastic injection mold is relatively small, so for large products with large projection area, the direction of large projection area should be placed on the direction of front and rear mold opening and closing mold, and the side projection area is small as the side parting.

2. Fit the demoulding requirements of the product

The parting surface is for the product to take out the mold smoothly. Therefore, the orientation of the parting surface should be selected in the part with the largest cross-section size of the product, which is one of the most basic criteria.

3. Shape of parting surface

In general products, a parting surface is often used in a straight direction with the opening direction of the injection molding machine. In special cases, parting surfaces of other shapes are used. The shape of the parting surface is based on the principle of convenient processing and demoulding. Like a bending product, it must be based on the curvature of its bending.

4. Ensure product appearance and quality

The parting surface should not be selected on the smooth outer surface of the product. The appearance of the surface is generally not allowed to have a clip and other impact on the presentation of beautiful lines; Some products have concentricity requirements, have to put all the concentricity requirements on the same side, so as to ensure the concentricity.
